Eight days across the Land of Fire — the flame towers and walled Old City of Baku, the fire-temple at Ateshgah and the eternally burning Yanardag hillside, two Caucasus mountain resorts at Gabala (Tufandag) and Shahdag, the high-altitude village of Khinalig, and the UNESCO mud volcanoes and petroglyphs of Gobustan. A clean balance of city, culture and mountain scenery.
Seasonal advisory
- Shahdag and Tufandag are at their best May-October; in winter (Dec-Mar) they become ski resorts and cable-car timings may change with weather.
- Khinalig's mountain road can close briefly after heavy snow or rain — an alternate Quba sightseeing day is kept as backup.

Arrive in Baku, the capital on the Caspian shore, and check in to your hotel. After a rest, an easy evening orientation along Baku Boulevard and the Seaside National Park, with the Flame Towers lighting up the skyline and a first view over Baku Bay. Welcome dinner at a local restaurant.
