Spring (Mar–May) brings clear skies, blooming rhododendrons, and 10–20 °C. Monsoon (Jun–Sep) is heavy rain. Autumn (Oct–Dec) has crystal-clear mountain views. Winters are cold with snow above 8,000 ft.
Inner Line Permits (ILP) are required for Tsomgo Lake, Nathula Pass, and parts of North Sikkim.
Nathula Pass (India-China border) is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
Altitude sickness can affect visitors at Tsomgo (12,000 ft) and above — acclimatise gradually.
